Belize 2005-2007
In July 2005 we arrived in Belize Central America to construct, start and direct a Bible School, & Missionary training facility for Teen Missions Intl. The land that was purchased was ten miles east of town in the rain forest on a small inland lake. With nothing but hand tools and another staff family we started clearing the land to build our bible school. The work was hot, difficult and dangerous, but we were encouraged by the desire to reach the people of Belize for God's glory.
With the help of a youth team we started the arduous task of clearing the jungle to begin the construction of the mission base.
Fire was our best friend when we were clearing the land. The team would cut down and pile the massive amounts of trees, bushes and undergrowth, and then set the piles on fire. During this process we would often have twenty piles burning at one time, and they might burn for as long as two weeks.
